Great Sunday Lunches would not be the first thing that comes to mind when walking along Soi 23 in Sukhumvit, but after last week’s opener at Scruffy Murphys we got an invite to try the belly busting Sunday lunch at The Clubhouse Sports Bar & Grill a few hundred metres from Soi Cowboy, they had a hard task to follow the series opener but I wasn’t to be disappointed.

This Bar & Grill come Sports bar is the perfect place to watch sporting events and to eat some great pub food, they do daily specials like their Express Lunches Monday to Friday (11am – 2pm) and some fantastic sporting events with the Super Bowl coming up on the 4th February.

Walking into The Clubhouse you are greeted with a smile in a very roomy bar, lots of tables and some great views of the many screens showing live and pre recorded sport, but you aren’t here for that you are like me here for the food.

Sunday Lunches start at 395 and their selections of meat are Beef, Pork and Chicken so with mini mango again going for the pork I decide to try the beef, two lunches arrive and I am thinking after the series is finished I need to start a new one on how I lose all of this weight, the portions are big and the plates are full, the Sunday Lunch is carrots, peas, some superb roast potatoes, two yorkshire puddings and a very tasteful portion of cauliflower cheese all topped off with gravy that could not have tasted any better. 30 minutes later and mini mango and myself are stuffed to the brim and I could not eat another thing, great hospitality from John and his team and a great Sunday Lunch, is it pushing for the winners spot in our Battle of The Sunday Lunches? A resounding yes but you will have to keep following us for the next few weeks to see who comes out on top.
