Situated at the end of Soi 11 in Sukhumvit, next door to Insanity nightclub, the popular PopsDiner named V8Diner kept appearing on Mangoes Twitter feed one evening, wondering what all the fuss was about I arranged to meet some friends and head down there.

Inside is like stepping into a back to the future movie, half expecting Marty Mcfly to run through the diner.

First up was the Big Breakfast Sandwich, A toasted bun with a fried egg, bacon and a slice of cheddar cheese, Hash browns and sausage were served on the side, A great start to the day.

Next, up the Dogs, we chose four and I was slightly apprehensive by one of them going by the name of The Atomic Chili Dog, This bad boy was left until last and I was expecting it to blow my mouth off ( I don’t do spicy food), Instead I was pleasantly surprised, loads of flavor and not too spicy at all.

“Farang Friendly Chili Dog ”

Next up, and this bad boy should be called the Atomic Chicken Burger, whilst the Atomic Chili dog was bearable, one slice of this burger and it blew my taste buds out of the window, Not for the faint of heart.

My kinda dish next, a meatball sub with marinara sauce, all made on a freshly baked baguette with mozzarella cheese and french fries. A quick word about those french fries, they are not your McDonalds run of the mill fries, these are actually very tasty with just the right amount of salt.

All in all a great day tasting some of the V8Diners food, they have a new chef and if you have been before when situated next to times square, these guys deserve a second visit.

The decor is top notch, the staff are very friendly and the food is delicious and reasonably priced, and if you have a Thai partner there is a decent amount of Thai food on offer.

On a side note, if you have a camera take it along, by 5 pm the place was full of Thai’s who were eating and posing for photos in this popular diner, I was told it was something to do with the hashtag #Riverdale.

Check them out here.
